Boy Scout Day at OSV

Mar 20, 2010

Boy Scout Day is for Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of all ages who are interested in learning more about orienteering, the 19th-century American explorers Lewis & Clark, and New England's environmental history. While completing an orienteering course with a map and compass, Scouts explore landscape and community changes over time and the effects on the environment. Learn how to investigate the land for evidence of these stages of transformation. Also, explore the everyday lives of boys and men of the early 19th century through demonstrations and performances. Online registration for this event opens February 24.

Fireplace Feast

Mar 20, 2010

Relax by the fire or lend a hand as your prime rib is roasted in our great fieldstone fireplace and chowder is made in an antique iron cauldron. Take a horse drawn sleigh or wagon ride through the New England countryside then chase away the chill with some nice warm mulled cider or wine. Peel an apple or two with our antique apple peeler/corer and help to make the deep dish apple pie that will be served for your dessert. Make sure you come ready to eat because we'll be serving seconds on chowder and prime rib! There will be fresh local butternut squash made the Salem Cross Inn way, freshly baked spinach pie, homemade muffins and rolls. It's a feast that you won't want to miss and will be talking about for days to come.
